Madi and Max’s day at the Botanica wedding venue in Oceanside, CA, was memorable because every detail felt connected to a larger vision. Hidden beneath layers of lush greenery and winding garden pathways, the venue provided the perfect backdrop for celebration.
The couple wanted their wedding to feel like an intimate dinner party in a secret garden. Their vision was brought to life through thoughtful design, a black-tie dress code, and personal touches that felt both elevated and completely their own. The result was a wedding that balanced timeless elegance with a more fashion-forward perspective, where every detail fit into the story of their day.

From the start, the design focused on creating the right atmosphere. Madi pictured a romantic spring celebration with muted earth tones, deep burgundy, different greens, and soft ivory. Instead of using lots of decorations, the design relied on a few carefully chosen details to shape the experience. Every detail was chosen for a reason. From the moment guests arrived, everything worked together to create the feeling Madi and Max wanted.

One of the best things about Botanica is that it already offers so much visual character. The greenery, mature trees, and hidden garden spaces make the space feel intimate without needing a lot of extra decoration. Instead of building an atmosphere from scratch, couples have the opportunity to work with the environment and allow the venue itself to become part of the design.
For Madi and Max’s day, soft draping hung from the ceremony tree made a striking focal point without taking over the landscape. The design worked with the garden, letting the natural surroundings stay at the heart of the experience.

Some of the most memorable design moments came from small, unexpected details. Instead of traditional flower arrangements, the florals focused on movement, texture, and natural shapes. Deep burgundy calla lilies, cascading amaranthus, layered greenery, and sculptural blooms made the arrangements feel more like art than standard bouquets. The flowers added energy to the overall design.
The flowers softened the formal black-tie look and added texture and depth to the celebration. Each arrangement was thoughtfully placed, bringing visual interest while keeping everything cohesive. The color palette balanced earthy tones with deeper, moodier shades, giving the day more dimension.

The grazing table was one of the highlights of the celebration. Instead of just being part of cocktail hour, the grazing table became part of the overall design. Layered with fruit, texture, color, and thoughtful styling, it felt more like a curated installation than a typical catering setup.
It reflected the overall philosophy behind the wedding. Every detail was chosen for both its look and the experience it created. The goal was not just to make things beautiful, but to create a space where people wanted to gather, linger, and enjoy the celebration.

Long communal tables stretched under the trees, decorated with candlelight, sculptural flowers, rich textures, and oversized satin drapes, which were used to create a luxe and romantic feel. As the sun set, candlelight filled the space. Speeches left wet faces up and down the tables. The whole evening felt less like a reception and more like the best dinner party anyone there had ever been to, which was always the point.
The evening moved easily between touching and joyful moments. What started as a cozy garden dinner turned into a lively dance floor, with cocktails, and the kind of party guests remember long after the wedding.

Madi and Max’s wedding is a great example of what thoughtful planning, intentional design, and creativity can achieve. From the black-tie style and sculptural flowers to the secret garden atmosphere and dinner party feel, every part was tied to a bigger story. Botanica was the perfect place to bring it all together.
