Monserate Winery is nestled in the hills of North San Diego County, and it genuinely feels like a different world the moment you arrive. Stone architecture, vine-draped walls, mature olive trees, and vineyard rows that soften into the distance, like a little piece of Italy brought to Southern California.
For couples drawn to that particular combination of grandeur and warmth, there is very little competition. Jessica and Jack felt that immediately. A black-tie celebration in a setting that reads like a Tuscan estate was always going to produce something extraordinary — and it did.

Jessica’s dress was a sleek halter with an open back and a floating cape, and she looked incredible. Her bridesmaids wore beautiful, mismatched garden-party-inspired dresses that worked very well together. Meanwhile, the guys were equally sharp with black tuxedos across the board, clean and classic.

There is something about a winery property in full bloom that makes a first look feel cinematic without effort. Ivy-covered walls, iron-framed doors, dappled light filtering through the garden — the backdrop essentially does half the work. The intimacy of that exchange before the ceremony, just the two of them, away from the crowd, is one of the quieter gifts a well-timed first look gives a wedding day.

Monserate’s outdoor ceremony lawn is framed by old-growth trees that create a natural canopy. The aisle arrangements were lush in the palette of the day. Cream and deep jewel tones against warm stone held together beautifully from the ceremony through to the end of the night.

The reception at Monserate has its own particular magic. Cobblestone underfoot, the estate building glowing as the sky darkened, long dinner tables set with white linen and florals that carried the same palette from the ceremony. The florals here translated beautifully into the tablescape, with the arrangements clustered at varying heights along white linen, tall glass hurricanes, and taper candles running the length of the table. Grapes tucked throughout tied the setting back to the vineyard, which was a beautiful touch.
Speeches brought on laughter and happy tears, while the garden glowed softly around them. The evening was filled with intimate moments with friends and family, leading to a lively dance floor.

“We were lucky enough to squeeze in an engagement session with her while visiting my parents for the holidays and it was such a sweet glimpse into her craft; she is so skilled at capturing candid love, but also has a knack for stopping you within your natural movement to get the shot you need (bc let’s be honest, few of us are naturals behind the camera).
Fast forward to the wedding day…her passion continued to meet the moment. She executed flawlessly and seamlessly, all while managing to keep us ahead of schedule. And I got every “must have” shot I wanted. It was also incredibly important to us that our vendors contribute to the day rather than appear cumbersome…she interacted effortlessly with our family and friends when needed.
Following the wedding, she has remained so gracious and patient as I’ve asked questions that she has answered before. I’ve attached some of her work so it can speak for itself. I’ve told her before, but I’ll tell her here again — she will be taking our milestone photos for as long as she’s available ❤️”
