There’s something undeniably romantic about a wedding in the Malibu hills. The rolling landscape, warm California sunshine, and sprawling greenery create the dream setting for Mia and Daniel’s Cielo Farms Malibu wedding.
Mia and Daniel brought a classic, black-tie aesthetic to their Cielo Farms Malibu wedding, with a vintage Mercedes, soft pink and white florals, and a beautifully styled outdoor reception. It was an elegant fall celebration, but also an incredibly fun one. Their families were such an important part of the day, and after months of dance lessons, Mia and Daniel had a first dance planned that their guests wouldn’t soon forget.

Surrounded by vineyards and the Santa Monica Mountains, Cielo Farms is a gorgeous setting for an outdoor wedding in Malibu. The property has a distinctly Mediterranean feel, with olive trees, natural stone, and views across the hills. There’s plenty of character here already, which makes it an especially lovely setting for couples who prefer a more classic wedding design.
For couples envisioning an elegant outdoor wedding, the landscape here becomes part of the experience, with open skies, natural textures, and golden sunlight creating a romantic atmosphere.
Mia and Daniel’s Cielo Farms wedding was so special. The ceremony overlooked the Malibu mountains, with rows of wooden bentwood chairs arranged along a grassy aisle and romantic floral arrangements in shades of ivory, blush, and soft green framing the space.

Before making their way to Malibu, the couple began their wedding day in Calabasas, where their families live.
The couple’s wedding style was classic from the beginning. The groom wore a beautifully tailored black tuxedo with a bow tie and white boutonniere, while the bride chose an elegant strapless white gown.
And of course, one of the most memorable details was the vintage Mercedes. Against the greenery and warm stone of Cielo Farms, the classic car added a touch of old Hollywood glamour that suited the celebration perfectly. It also made for some of the most beautiful portraits.

One of the most beautiful features of getting married at Cielo Farms is the opportunity to exchange vows surrounded by the Santa Monica Mountains.
For Mia and Daniel’s ceremony, rows of warm wooden chairs were complemented by abundant white and pale-pink florals. The neutral florals and greenery worked beautifully with the landscape, creating a cohesive look that felt luxurious without being excessive.
Family was a big part of Mia and Daniel’s wedding. I loved how much their families were involved in the day, and how naturally the excitement and emotion came through in the photographs.

I loved the vintage silver Mercedes Mia and Daniel chose for their wedding. It worked so well with their black-tie looks, and we took advantage of it for some beautiful portraits, including a few on film. The car gave us something a little different to work with, especially for the more fashion-inspired photographs.
Throughout the day, I photographed composed portraits and candid moments on film and digital. I love how these different perspectives work together, preserving not only how a wedding looked but also how it felt to be there.

As the celebration transitioned into the reception, the same thoughtful aesthetic continued throughout the outdoor space.
Long banquet tables and intimate round tables were dressed in crisp white linens, with elegant place settings and delicate floral arrangements bringing a soft, romantic feel to the setting. Wooden bentwood chairs tied the design together, while the surrounding olive trees, stone architecture, and mountain views added warmth and character. The color palette featured white, blush pink, and fresh green throughout the floral arrangements and smaller details.
Mia and Daniel’s guests definitely understood the black-tie dress code. I loved seeing all the evening gowns, tailored suits, and personal style throughout the celebration. Everyone looked incredible, and the fashion brought another interesting element to the photographs.
As beautiful as the wedding details were, one of the most unforgettable parts of the celebration came when Mia and Daniel took to the dance floor. Having taken dance lessons ahead of their wedding, they surprised their guests with an incredible first dance!
It was such a lovely reflection of who they are as a couple. Their wedding had all the elegance of a classic black-tie celebration, but there was nothing overly formal about the way they enjoyed it.
As the evening continued, the atmosphere became even more lively, with music, dancing, and a saxophonist adding to the celebration. Mia even found her way behind the DJ booth, fully embracing the energy of the evening.

Cielo Farms is a Malibu winery and wedding venue surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, and views of the Santa Monica Mountains. The stone architecture and Mediterranean-inspired grounds give the property a character of its own, and the outdoor spaces work beautifully for ceremonies and receptions.
The venue can accommodate up to 200 guests, with options for hosting the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception on the property for a truly seamless wedding experience for you and your guests. It’s worth exploring the different spaces when planning your timeline, especially if you’d like to set aside time for photos around the grounds before the reception.

Mia and Daniel’s wedding was a beautiful reflection of their personal style, from the classic black-tie fashion to the vintage car and thoughtfully chosen details. But some of my favorite photographs came from the moments that happened naturally, especially their first dance and the celebrations with their families.
As a Southern California wedding photographer, I approach each wedding with an editorial eye and an appreciation for the moments that make it personal. My goal is to create photographs that reflect your vision while giving you the space to be fully present throughout your day.
